Tulips, originally growing wild in the valleys of the Tian Shan mountain range, were cultivated in Constantinople as early as 1055. By the 15th century, tulips were among the most highly valued flowers. They quickly spread to Europe and became a highly prized commodity during the tulip mania.

The flowers of these beautiful plants inspired the creation of the CASTOR dining and conference table. Eight metal petals, finished with liquid metal surface treatment, form the base for the top made of 14mm thick tempered Optiwhite glass.
